The weather gods shined upon RFPA and 10 faithful aviators
made the trip to Galveston Scholes Field for lunch and to visit the Lone
Star Flight Museum and Texas Aviation Hall of Fame.
The morning began with low overcast and low
lying fog in Central Texas. This predominantly the result of the very
moisture saturated cold front that had pass through Texas the two days
previous. There were airmets for IFR conditions that were to expire soon.
We had to wait about an hour to depart our respective airports.
Galveston (GLS) is a great airport and the fuel was reasonable.
We paid $2.05/gal for self serve and $2.55 /gal for full service. There's
plenty of ramp space and the FBO is very helpful. I snapped this
photograph from the vantage of all the RFPA planes that were arriving. We
had four planes and 10 participants.

Lunch at the Moody Gardens Hotel. Time to talk
about aviation. (What else?)
