It was a beautiful Saturday morning when RFPA set out on its annual Poker Run Contest.

beautiful TBM 700.

Everyone that participates always has a great time on the Poker Run. We had four aircraft this year and fourteen participants. The airport rotation was:

Greenville Majors (GVT)
McKinney Municipal (TKI)
Greenville Municipal (GLE)
Parker County (WEA)
Fort Worth Spinks (FWS)

After hitting the "hot spots" like Parker County, everyone was ready for lunch at Chili's in Fort Worth. The poker hand was played and the winner was Mel Rushton.

Here's a great picture of 731TM,

great TBM 700

Past President, James Deets and Clarence pose for a picture.

I was able to get this great aerial picture of 5849K as they passed by on our starboard side. This picture was taken from Jon Alston's vintage V-Tail Bonanza, 2191D.  The Poker Run is always a lot of fun because, if you love flying like we do, you get to spend a great day, visiting many airports. Every year we try to go some place new; varying the route so we see different geography and land at different airports than last year.

Arrival at Gainesville Municipal.

And then we get passed by the TBM... Zoooom

The TBM 700 is not short on creature comforts. Tom, left, and Robert, right, observing the Texas country side.

Mel and Eddie up front. Mel and Tom (from above) flew the TBM to Greece last year. Can't imagine how much fun that was.

Everyone had a great time on the Poker Run 2003. Can't wait until next year.
